Hidden Gems of Birkirkara

Birkirkara’s residential streets hide significant cultural sites often overlooked by visitors. The Gabriel Caruana Foundation operates within an 18th-century windmill, showcasing contemporary ceramics, while the Baby Jesus Museum houses a vast collection of religious figurines. The town’s history is further preserved at the Old Train Station, a remnant of Malta’s colonial-era railway, and through historic religious architecture like the 17th-century Sant Antnin u Santa Katarina chapel and the plague-era Santu Rokku. Rosa Kwir adds a modern dimension as a dedicated space for queer art and community projects.
