Best of Bishkek City

Bishkek’s landscape is defined by its Soviet-era architecture, expansive parks, and memorials dedicated to Kyrgyz identity. This selection features the National Historical Museum and monuments honoring the legendary hero Manas and WWII victory. Beyond the city center, the Ata-Beyit Memorial Complex offers insight into the country's 20th-century history, while the Karachev Grove, established in 1881, remains one of the city's oldest green spaces. National Historical Museum

Located on Ala-Too Square, this museum houses over 90,000 exhibits documenting Kyrgyz history from antiquity to the modern era, including ethnographic collections and Soviet-era murals.

Manas

A bronze statue on Ala-Too Square depicting the legendary Kyrgyz hero Manas the Noble, erected in 2011 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence.

Completed in 1985 to mark the 40th anniversary of WWII, this monument features three curved granite pillars forming a symbolic yurt shape over an eternal flame.

A memorial complex and cemetery established to honor the victims of the 1937 Stalinist repressions. It is also the burial site of the renowned Kyrgyz author Chingiz Aitmatov.

This large bronze statue of Vladimir Lenin was relocated from the city's main square to its current position behind the National Historical Museum in 2003.
