Beaches and Coasts of Madeira Island

Calheta Beach

Praia da Calheta is a beach located near the town Calheta, on the island of Madeira, Portugal.

Machico Beach

One of the two sandy beaches on the island with sand imported from Western Sahara.

Farol da Ponta do Pargo

Located on the westernmost tip of Madeira, this 1922 lighthouse stands atop a 312-meter cliff. It houses a small museum dedicated to the island's maritime signals.

Praia do Porto do Seixal

A pebble beach in Caniço de Baixo known for its clean, calm waters. It features a professional diving center and provides direct access to the underwater nature reserve.

Praia de Vigário

A large pebble beach in Câmara de Lobos, situated beneath the shadows of the massive Cabo Girão cliff. Historically, this area was used by local fishermen for drying nets.

Praia da Baía D'Abra

A rocky beach located within the Ponta de São Lourenço nature reserve. It is characterized by dramatic multi-colored volcanic rock formations and crystal-clear waters.
