Glenveagh Essentials

Glenveagh National Park encompasses 16,000 hectares of Donegal wilderness, centered around the 19th-century Glenveagh Castle and its Victorian gardens. The landscape features the quartzite peak of Mount Errigal and the deep waters of Lough Veagh. Historical sites include the ruins of Dunlewey Church, built from local white marble, and the Glebe House, which preserves a significant collection of 20th-century art. The area serves as a primary habitat for red deer and golden eagles.
