Karst Peaks & Caves

Guangxi’s karst topography features a dense concentration of limestone formations, including the region's highest peak, Kitten Mountain, which serves as the source of the Li River. The landscape is defined by 'fenglin' (peak forest) and 'fengcong' (peak cluster) formations. This selection includes the subterranean river systems of Crown Cave, the natural karst skylights of Sanmenhai, and elevated viewpoints like Xiang Gong Shan that overlook the winding river valleys.

Yuanbao Shan

The second-highest peak in Guangxi, reaching 2,086 meters. It is a significant biodiversity site, home to the rare Yuanbaoshan fir, a critically endangered conifer species endemic to this mountain range.

Xiang gong shan

A karst peak situated on the west bank of the Li River. The summit provides a panoramic viewpoint overlooking a major U-turn bend in the river and the surrounding limestone clusters.

Crown Cave

A 12-kilometer multi-level water cave system featuring an underground river. The site is equipped with a sightseeing elevator, a light rail, and boats to navigate its stalactite-filled galleries.

Sanmenhai Cave

Part of the Leye-Fengshan Global Geopark, this site features a series of 'skylights' where underground rivers meet the surface. It is a rare karst window accessible by boat through subterranean passages.

Sanqishan

A limestone peak located within the rugged karst terrain of western Guangxi, situated near the border of Leye and Lingyun counties.

Yaoshan

The highest mountain in the Guilin vicinity at 909 meters. It features a cable car and offers views of the surrounding 'peak forest' landscape, which changes appearance with the seasons.
