Ischigualasto / Talampaya Natural Parks Essentials

These adjacent UNESCO World Heritage sites in northwest Argentina protect the world’s most complete continental fossil record from the Triassic Period. Talampaya National Park is characterized by massive red sandstone cliffs reaching 150 meters, while Ischigualasto Provincial Park showcases grey-white clay formations and unique spherical concretions. Geological Wonders

This collection highlights the unique geological formations of Ischigualasto Provincial Park and Talampaya National Park, both UNESCO World Heritage sites. These arid landscapes preserve a complete continental sequence of fossiliferous sediments from the Triassic Period.
