Historic Sites of Komárom

The city of Komárom preserves a dual heritage of military architecture, spanning from the Roman Empire to the 19th century. This list highlights the remains of Brigetio, once a vital legionary fortress on the Danube Limes, featuring its amphitheater and defensive castra. Complementing these ancient ruins is the monumental Komárom fortification system, including the Star Fort (Csillagerőd) and Fort Monostor.
