Once a medieval silver-mining powerhouse, Kutná Hora features a high concentration of Gothic and Baroque architecture. The UNESCO-listed center is dominated by the five-nave St. Barbara's Church and the royal Italian Court, which once served as the central mint. Nearby Sedlec hosts the world-famous ossuary decorated with the remains of 40,000 people and the Cathedral of Our Lady, a pioneering example of the Baroque Gothic style. The town's narrow streets also house the 15th-century Stone Fountain and the Bohemian Museum of Silver, offering access to original medieval mine shafts.
