Livingston’s landscape features a network of limestone caves, freshwater lagoons, and coastal waterfalls. Los Siete Altares consists of seven tiered pools emptying into the Caribbean, while the Rio Dulce National Park protects a corridor of mangroves and manatee habitats. Inland, the Cueva Tigre and Grutas el Encanto offer subterranean river systems and jungle-shrouded rock formations, and El Golfete provides a wide expanse for observing aquatic wildlife within the Chocón Machacas Biotope.

A large expansion of the Rio Dulce river, home to the Chocón Machacas Biotope, a dedicated sanctuary for manatees and aquatic birdlife.
