Maui Parks and Viewpoints
Maui’s diverse landscape spans from the 10,023-foot summit of Haleakalā to the volcanic black sand beaches of Waiʻānapanapa State Park. This collection features high-altitude overlooks like Leleiwi and Halahaku, which provide views into the Haleakalā crater. In West Maui, the ʻĪao Valley State Monument showcases the 1,200-foot ʻĪao Needle, a basaltic core surrounded by rainforest. pu’u kukui
The highest peak of the West Maui Mountains, reaching 5,788 feet. It is one of the wettest spots on Earth, serving as a critical watershed and habitat for rare endemic plant species.
Kalama Park
A 36-acre oceanfront park in Kihei featuring a skate park, tennis courts, and a playground. The 'Cove' section is a frequent site for beginner surf lessons.
Kamaole Park III
The southernmost and largest of the three Kamaole beach parks. It features a wide grassy lawn, a playground, and a rocky shoreline suitable for snorkeling.
Kamaole Park II
A sandy beach park in South Maui with a gentle slope into the water. It is bordered by rocky points that offer snorkeling opportunities during calm sea conditions.
Keawakapu I Beach Park
Located at the southern end of Kihei, this park provides access to a long sandy beach used for swimming and snorkeling near the offshore reef.
