Historic Churches of Meissen

Meissen’s skyline is dominated by the Albrechtsburg castle and the adjacent Meissen Cathedral, a masterpiece of German Gothic architecture. Beyond the cathedral, the town preserves a collection of historic religious sites dating back to the 13th century. These include the Nikolaikirche, the town's oldest church, and the late Gothic Frauenkirche, situated in the heart of the Old Town.
