Nendaz Essentials

Nendaz serves as the central access point to the 4 Vallées, Switzerland's largest interconnected ski domain. This selection highlights the region's technical landmarks and natural features, including the 87-meter-high Cleuson Dam and the historic Bisse de Vex, a 12-kilometer irrigation channel dating back to the 15th century. High-altitude highlights include the Mont Fort summit at 3,330 meters, offering views of the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc, and the Tracouet arrival station, which provides access to the frozen Lake Noir.

Four Valleys Ski Area – Verbier/La Tzoumaz/Nendaz/Veysonnaz/Thyon

Switzerland's largest ski area, comprising over 410 kilometers of runs and 80 lifts connecting six resorts. It features diverse terrain ranging from beginner slopes to high-altitude freeride sectors reaching 3,330 meters.

Mont Fort

Mont Fort is a mountain of the Pennine Alps, located near Verbier in the Swiss canton of Valais.

Tracouet

Arrival station for the Nendaz gondola at 2,200 meters. It serves as a hub for the Lake Noir area, featuring a beginner ski park in winter and a starting point for hikes to the Dent de Nendaz in summer.

Barrage de Cleuson

Gravity dam built between 1946 and 1951, standing 87 meters tall. It contains 20 million cubic meters of water, noted for its distinct turquoise color, and supports the 15th-century Saint-Barthélemy chapel on its shore.

Bisse de Vex

A 12-kilometer historic irrigation channel constructed in the 15th century. The path follows a gentle gradient through forests and pastures, connecting the resort of Veysonnaz with the Mayens-de-Sion.

Pra Da Dzeu

A high-altitude forest clearing and wetland area, which translates to 'meadow in the forest.' It is accessible via the Bisse de Saxon and offers views of the Rhone Valley and the Bernese Alps.

Veysonnaz

Cable car station providing access to the 4 Vallées ski domain and the legendary Piste de l'Ours, a downhill run famous for hosting multiple Alpine Ski World Cup races.
