Historic Sites of Oléron
Île d'Oléron’s history is reflected in its diverse architecture, ranging from the Neolithic Dolmen d’Ors to the 17th-century military fortifications of the Citadelle at Le Château-d'Oléron. A Citadelle et fortifications
A 17th-century military complex built between 1630 and 1704 to defend the southern coast. Designed by Pierre de Conty d'Argencourt and later improved by Vauban.
B Phare de Chassiron
Located at the island's northern tip, this 46-meter lighthouse features distinctive black and white horizontal stripes and provides navigation across the Pertuis d'Antioche.
