Walk the great east-west axis that made Paris famous: from the medieval cathedral island, through the Louvre and its royal gardens, across the square where a revolution turned deadly, and up the Champs-Élysées to the Arc de Triomphe. This is the single walk that ties together the city's most unmissable sights, with a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower itself along the way. Start at Notre-Dame Cathedral on the Île de la Cité, reachable by metro to Cité or Saint-Michel–Notre-Dame.
