Peaks and Panoramic Views

The Rhön region features a diverse collection of vantage points ranging from volcanic peaks to historical military installations. This list includes Observation Post Alpha, a significant Cold War site on the former Inner German Border, alongside medieval watchtowers like the Suhlesturm and Galgenturm. Natural highlights include the basalt boulder fields of the Schafstein and the expansive panoramas from the Hohe Geba. Modern observation platforms, such as the Mottener Haube tower, provide views across the tri-state area of Hesse, Bavaria, and Thuringia.
