Sfântu Gheorghe Island Essentials

Located where the Danube’s oldest branch meets the Black Sea, Sfântu Gheorghe is a remote village accessible only by water. This selection highlights the UNESCO-listed biosphere reserve, from the wild beaches where the river enters the sea to traditional Lipovan eateries serving sturgeon soup.
