raionul Soroca Essentials

Raionul Soroca features the 15th-century Soroca Fort, a circular stone fortification built by Stephen the Great on the Dniester River. The region is home to the Rudi Monastery, an 18th-century landmark within a nature reserve, and the nearby Struve Geodetic Arc Point, a UNESCO-listed scientific site. Visitors can climb 600 steps to the Candle of Gratitude monument or explore the ancient rock-cut cave of Bechir's Hermitage. In Soroca city, the Gypsy Hill neighborhood displays unique architectural replicas of global landmarks.

A 29.5-meter-tall monument and chapel situated atop a hill overlooking the Dniester River. Accessible via a 600-step staircase, it was inaugurated in 2004 to honor the preservation of Moldovan culture and history.
