Ujung Kulon National Park Essentials

Ujung Kulon National Park encompasses the westernmost tip of Java and includes the volcanic island group of Krakatoa. This UNESCO World Heritage site protects the last remaining population of Javan rhinoceros. The park features diverse ecosystems ranging from the lowland rainforests of the mainland to the coral reefs of Peucang Island. Key sites include the Dutch-built Tanjung Layar lighthouse, the Cigenter River's mangrove forests on Handeuleum Island, and the ancient Hindu statues atop Panaitan Island’s Gunung Raksa.
