Viewpoints and Towers

Veszprém’s landscape is defined by its dramatic topography, featuring limestone cliffs and the rolling Bakony hills. This collection includes the 13th-century Fire Tower, which served as a defensive bastion, and modern wooden lookouts like the Queen Gisela tower on Gulya Hill. Visitors can explore geological depressions at Meggyespuszta or climb the Vitéz Bertalan Árpád lookout on Papod Hill, the highest point in the region, for views spanning Lake Balaton and the High Bakony.
