North Bohemian Museum

Established in 1873, this institution is the oldest museum of applied arts in the Czech Republic. The museum occupies a notable Neo-Renaissance building designed by the architect Friedrich Ohmann. The structure features a prominent tower accessible to the public and is surrounded by a museum park. It is officially designated as a Cultural Heritage Site.

The permanent exhibitions cover a wide range of subjects, including European decorative arts, regional history, and the natural environment of the Jizera Mountains and the Frýdlant region. Specialized collections include significant holdings of glass, textiles, ceramics, and oriental carpets. The museum also preserves rare mechanical musical instruments and a large collection of historical photography.

Beyond its primary galleries, the facility houses a historic library and hosts thematic exhibitions ranging from architectural displays to cultural projects. Multimedia installations are integrated into the displays, and the museum offers a program of workshops and guided tours. The museum is open to the public.
