Toyosu Market

Local nameToyosu Market
Location豊洲, Tokyo, Japan

This market is the largest and busiest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world. In 2018 it moved from Tsujiki, where it served its visitors since 1935, to a new area of Toyosu where it was relocated into a new modern building complex.

Popular with locals and tourists alike, it is the place to enjoy the lively atmosphere of a Japanese culinary hotspot. If you want to buy some fresh food including vegetables and traditional Japanese foodstuffs, head here. You can also take a break from shopping in one of the local restaurants - they offer excellent sushi.

When visiting, remember not to bargain with the sellers, as this is considered very rude. Also, if you are willing to get up early and register at 4:30 am, you can go and take part in the 5 am live tuna auction which you can observe from the second floor.
