Vezio Castle

This 11th-century medieval military outpost was originally constructed by the Lombard queen Theodelinda. The site features a restored tower with square merlons and defensive structures dating back to the First World War. The main keep houses a permanent exhibition dedicated to the Lariosaurus, an extinct prehistoric reptile.

The grounds encompass a botanical garden and extensive olive groves. A falconry center is located on the premises, alongside a network of underground chambers. The castle's elevated position provides panoramic views of the surrounding lake landscape.

The castle is a ruin that has been partially restored and is open to the public. It is designated as a cultural heritage site and showcases a blend of medieval architecture and natural environments.
