Auckland Region Essentials

Auckland's geography is shaped by dormant volcanoes like Maungawhau and Maungakiekie, offering panoramic views across the Hauraki Gulf. The city's heritage is preserved within the neoclassical Auckland War Memorial Museum and the Gothic Revival Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. Urban highlights include the 328-meter Sky Tower and the revitalized Viaduct Harbour. Beyond the CBD, the region encompasses the expansive Auckland Domain, the historic maritime atmosphere of Devonport, and the powerful surf and volcanic black sands of South Piha Beach on the Tasman Sea coast.
