Historic Sites in the Azores

This collection highlights the architectural and maritime history of the Azores across the islands of São Miguel, Terceira, and Faial. It features the UNESCO World Heritage city center of Angra do Heroísmo and the massive 16th-century Fortress of São João Baptista. The selection spans centuries of Azorean life, from 18th-century Baroque chapels and city gates to the evocative 20th-century ruins of the Monte Palace hotel and the historic clock tower of Horta.
