Dachstein Alpine Huts & Chalets
The Dachstein Mountains feature an extensive network of Alpine Club (ÖAV) huts and private mountain inns ranging from 900 to over 2,100 meters in elevation. These traditional structures serve as essential base camps for glacier tours, climbing the south face, and hiking the Dachstein Circular Trail. Many locations, such as the Austriahütte, offer historical insights through onsite museums, while others like the Walcheralm specialize in regional dairy production.
