Ancient Churches and Ruins

This collection highlights the rock-cut religious architecture of Cappadocia, primarily within the Göreme Open Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Dating from the 9th to 11th centuries, these churches and chapels feature Byzantine frescoes ranging from simple red ochre symbols to elaborate narratives painted with lapis lazuli.
