Best Beaches

This collection features the diverse coastline of the Himarë region along the Ionian Sea. It includes Gjipe Beach, set within a deep canyon accessible via a hiking trail, and the secluded Aquarium Beach cove. The list spans from the wide, olive-grove-lined shores of Livadhi to the white pebble expanses of Palasë and Drimadhë. These locations offer a mix of organized resort areas with water sports facilities and remote bays reachable only by boat or rugged footpaths.

Gjipe Beach

Pebblestone beach located at the mouth of a deep canyon. Accessible via a 20-minute downhill hike or by boat. High limestone cliffs surround the cove, which is a frequent site for rock climbing.

Plazhi i Dhërmiut

One of the longest beaches in the Albanian Riviera, characterized by deep turquoise waters and smooth white pebbles. It sits below the village of Dhërmi and provides boat rentals for exploring nearby sea caves.

Aquarium Beach

A small, rocky cove tucked between Jale and Himare. Accessible only by boat or a narrow 4x4 track, this secluded spot features clear, calm water suitable for snorkeling.

Livadhi Beach

A broad pebbly beach flanked by hills covered in olive trees. Located north of Himare, it features several natural springs that flow directly into the sea.

Plazhi i Jalës

A deep-water bay known for its intense blue color. The beach is composed of small pebbles and serves as a hub for kayaking and boat excursions along the coast.

Qeparo Beach

A tranquil beach with a mix of sand and pebbles. A stone seaside promenade runs along the shore, connecting the coastal area to the lower village.

Dhrale Beach

A wide, white-pebble beach located at the northern end of the Palasë coastline, situated directly beneath the Llogara Pass.

Filikuri

A secluded bay south of Himare town, enclosed by high vertical cliffs. The beach is primarily accessible by boat or kayak, as the land path involves a steep descent.

Marachi

A small beach in Himare located between Spile and Prinos. It is characterized by clean, deep water and its position within walking distance of the town center.

Palasë Beach

The first beach reached after descending the Llogara Pass. It features a long stretch of white pebbles and sand, marking the northern start of the Riviera's main coastal stretch.

Plazhi i Drimadhës

Separated from Dhërmi by a large rock formation, this beach offers both sandy and pebbly sections. It is notable for its natural rock arch and clear western exposure.
