Rabat Unmissables

Rabat, Morocco's capital, features a coastal blend of medieval Islamic heritage and French colonial urbanism. The city's landscape is defined by the 12th-century Hassan Tower and the adjacent Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Within the 14th-century walls of Chellah lie Roman ruins and a Merenid necropolis, while the white-washed Medina offers traditional commerce. Modern landmarks include the Zaha Hadid-designed Grand Theatre and the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern Art. The Kasbah of the Udayas provides access to formal Andalusian gardens and panoramic Atlantic views from the Sémaphore platform.
