Nature Wonders of the Veluwe

The Veluwe region encompasses the Netherlands' largest concentration of nature reserves, including the Hoge Veluwe and Veluwezoom National Parks. Its landscape is defined by the Kootwijkerzand sand drifts—the largest in Western Europe—and the undulating purple heathlands of the Posbank. The area features the country's tallest waterfalls near Loenen, specialized primate habitats at Apenheul, and the Belmonte Arboretum's botanical collection. Dedicated wildlife hides in the Speulderbos provide opportunities to observe red deer and wild boar in their natural habitat.
