Dedicated to St Martin, this beautiful gray marble cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Lucca. It was built in 1063 and renovated several times in the past, and it mixes Gothic and Romanesque styles.
When inside, note the intriguing sculptures and paintings, such as Domenico Ghirlandaio's Madonna and Child with Saints Peter or Jacopo Tintoretto's version of the Last Supper. The most precious item here is definitely the Holy Face of Lucca, a wooden crucifix with the image of Christ, carved by one of Jesus' early followers.
