Fästningen byggdes på 1500-talet och designades för att demonstrera Medici-familjens makt och för att skydda stadens centrum. Inte många vet att Galileo besökte fästningen och avslutade några om hans viktiga studier här. Även Kanye West och Kim Kardashian gifte sig här 2014.
