Asturias Historical Treasures

Asturias preserves a unique architectural legacy, most notably its 9th-century pre-Romanesque churches, a UNESCO World Heritage style found nowhere else. This collection spans from the Neolithic Dolmen de Santa Cruz to the Iron Age hillfort of Coaña and the Roman villa at Veranes. It also features medieval defensive towers in Llanes, Baroque palaces, and the imposing Universidad Laboral de Gijón, reflecting the region’s evolution from an ancient kingdom to a modern cultural hub.
