Australian Capital Territory Essentials

The Australian Capital Territory centers on Canberra, a planned city housing the nation's most significant cultural and political institutions. Highlights include the boomerang-shaped New Parliament House and the Brutalist-style High Court of Australia. Visitors can explore Australia's history at the National Museum, view extensive art collections at the National Gallery, and see the country's currency being produced at the Royal Australian Mint. Natural landmarks like the 250-hectare National Arboretum and the Australian National Botanic Gardens showcase native flora alongside the architectural landscape of Lake Burley Griffin.
