Belogradchik Essentials

Belogradchik features a dramatic landscape of red sandstone and conglomerate formations known as the Belogradchik Rocks, some reaching heights of 200 meters. The area is anchored by the Belogradchik Fortress, an ancient stronghold integrated into the natural stone walls by Roman and Ottoman engineers. Nearby, Magura Cave contains rare prehistoric paintings created with bat guano and remains of extinct cave fauna.
