Bonn’s green spaces range from 18th-century Baroque landscapes to specialized university research sites. The Hofgarten features formal French design elements in front of the main university building, while the primary Botanic Garden surrounds the Poppelsdorfer Schloss with extensive greenhouses and outdoor collections. Further south, the Melbgarten serves as an arboretum on the Venusberg. Smaller neighborhood spaces like the Klostergarten and the Garten der Erinnerung offer quiet retreats within the city’s residential and historic districts.
