Menorca's Ancient Sites

Menorca’s western region near Ciutadella contains a high concentration of Talayotic and Pre-Talayotic remains dating from the 2nd millennium BC. This collection includes navetas—unique boat-shaped megalithic burial chambers—and fortified settlements like Son Catlar, which retains its original 900-meter cyclopean wall. Visitors can explore rock-cut necropolises at Cala Morell and ritual taula enclosures, offering insight into the island's prehistoric social structures and funerary practices prior to the Roman conquest.
