Foča Essentials

Foča serves as the primary access point for Sutjeska National Park, encompassing the 2,386-meter Maglić peak and the Perućica primeval forest. The region features significant historical sites, including the brutalist Battle of Sutjeska Memorial and the reconstructed 16th-century Aladža Mosque. Natural anomalies like the sand pyramids of Pirni Do complement cultural landmarks such as the Saint Sava Temple and the Museum of Old Herzegovina, which documents the area's transition from a medieval seat to a modern center.

Sutjeska National Park Highlights

Sutjeska National Park protects the oldest and largest forest reserve in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including Perućica, one of Europe’s last primeval forests.
