Historic Sites

The Haifa District contains a diverse archaeological landscape spanning from Neolithic times to the Crusader era. Key landmarks include the Roman maritime city of Caesarea with its preserved amphitheater and coastal aqueducts, and the UNESCO-listed necropolis of Beit She’arim, known for its extensive rock-cut Jewish tombs. The region also features submerged prehistoric settlements at Atlit Yam, Byzantine-era mosaics, and ancient limestone quarries and village remains scattered across the slopes of Mount Carmel.
