Kornwerderzand Bunkers

Stelling Kornwerderzand is a historic WWII defense line situated on the Afsluitdijk near Harlingen. It is renowned as the only location where the Dutch army successfully halted the German land advance during the 1940 invasion. The site features a complex of heavy concrete casemates, including machine gun and cannon positions, alongside later German additions like anti-aircraft batteries and artillery bunkers built during the occupation.
