Historic Churches & Monasteries

This collection showcases the Byzantine and post-Byzantine religious architecture of the Himarë region, specifically across the villages of Vuno, Dhërmi, and Qeparo. These Orthodox sites, ranging from the 14th-century St. Theodore Monastery to the 18th-century Church of All Saints, feature traditional stone masonry and historic frescoes. Situated along the Albanian Riviera, these monasteries and churches served as vital spiritual centers and defensive lookouts throughout the centuries.
