This collection highlights the state's architectural heritage through the Greek Revival Nottoway Plantation and the Creole-style Laura Plantation. Cultural sites include New Orleans’ historic 'Cities of the Dead' at Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 and the living history at Vermilionville. Engineering landmarks like the 24-mile Lake Pontchartrain Causeway and the Art Deco Louisiana State Capitol provide a glimpse into the region’s structural history.
