Mackinac Island State Park Essentials

Mackinac Island State Park encompasses over 80% of the island, preserving a landscape defined by dramatic limestone formations like Arch Rock and the 75-foot Sugar Loaf stack. The car-free environment highlights Victorian-era architecture, including the 1887 Grand Hotel and historic mission churches. Visitors can explore the island's geological history through sites like Skull Cave and Devil’s Kitchen, or visit the Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art Museum, housed in the 1838 Indian Dormitory near the harbor.
