Tomb of Askia Unesco world heritage site

The Tomb of Askia, in Gao, Mali, is believed to be the burial place of Askia Mohammad I, one of the Songhai Empire's most prolific emperors.

Mosquée de Komoguel

Located in Mopti, this mosque is a significant example of Sudano-Sahelian architecture. Built in the early 20th century, it mirrors the design of the Great Mosque of Djenné and is part of a UNESCO-designated historic area.

Maison de Heinrich-Barth

Palais de Biton Coulibaly

Situated in Ségou-Koro, this 18th-century site was the residence of Biton Mamary Coulibaly, the founder of the Bambara Empire. The complex includes the ruins of the palace and the ruler's tomb.

Tadmkt

Also known as Essouk, these archaeological ruins represent a major early medieval Saharan trade hub. The site contains remnants of mosques and dwellings, as well as pre-Islamic rock art.
