Mindo Waterfalls
Located within the Nambillo Cloud Forest Reserve, these waterfalls are primarily accessed via the Tarabita cable car that spans the river valley. The 'Santuario de Cascadas' features a network of trails leading to falls of varying heights, including the 26-meter La Reina. The area is characterized by dense secondary cloud forest, natural swimming pools, and high biodiversity typical of the Chocó-Andean corridor.
Cascada Nambillo
Features a 12-meter natural pool suitable for swimming. It is the most accessible waterfall in the sanctuary, located a short walk from the Tarabita cable car station.
Cascada Azul
A waterfall along the main sanctuary trail known for its deep natural basin and clear water.
Cascada la Reina
The tallest waterfall in the Mindo sanctuary, reaching a height of approximately 26 meters. It is situated at the terminus of the longest hiking trail in the reserve.
Cascada Guarumos
A small waterfall located on the secondary trail loop of the Nambillo Sanctuary.
Cascada Madre
An intermediate waterfall found along the primary hiking circuit of the Nambillo Cloud Forest Reserve.
Cascada Ondinas
A small cascade situated on the trail system between Cascada Guarumos and Cascada Madre.
Cascada Corazon
A secluded waterfall located near the Mindo River, named for the heart-shaped rock formation at its base.
