Nagasaki Museums & Galleries

Nagasaki's museums document the prefecture's historical role as Japan's primary gateway for international exchange. The collection includes the Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture and the Siebold Memorial Museum, which details early European scientific influence. Art-focused sites include the Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum and galleries dedicated to local masters like Seibo Kitamura and Yutaro Noguchi. Specialized exhibits in Sotome and Shimabara preserve the history of Hidden Christians and the social contributions of Father de Rotz.
