Provincia de San Juan: Unmissable Wonders

San Juan Province features the UNESCO-listed Ischigualasto Provincial Park, home to Triassic period fossils and unique rock formations known as the Valle de la Luna. The region preserves segments of the Qhapaq Ñan ancient road network and the 19th-century birthplace of statesman Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. High-altitude landscapes include El Leoncito National Park, a site for astronomical research, and the 6,145-meter Cerro Las Tórtolas. Water management and recreation are centered at the Quebrada de Ullúm Dam, while the San Guillermo and Valle Fértil reserves protect diverse Andean and Monte ecosystems.
