Ermida de Nossa Senhora do Socorro
An 18th-century chapel in Biscoitos, rebuilt after the devastating 1757 earthquake. It represents the traditional rural religious architecture of the Calheta municipality.
Igreja de São Mateus
Located in Urzelina, this site is famous for its surviving bell tower, which remained standing after the 1808 volcanic eruption destroyed the rest of the original structure.
