Birżebbuġa's Must-Sees

Birżebbuġa offers a dense concentration of Maltese history, ranging from prehistoric cart ruts to 20th-century geopolitical milestones. Saint Lucian's Fortress, a 17th-century bastion, stands as a prominent coastal defense, while the Cold War Memorial marks the site of the 1989 Bush-Gorbachev summit. Torri San Luċjan

A 17th-century polygonal fort built by the Order of Saint John to defend Marsaxlokk Bay. It later served as a British military installation and currently houses the Malta Aquaculture Research Centre.

Cold War Memorial

This monument commemorates the 1989 Malta Summit between U.S. President George H.W. Bush and Soviet Leader Mikhail Gorbachev, held aboard ships anchored in the bay to signal the end of the Cold War.

Ħal Far (Former Royal Air Force Airfield)
