Meet the capital's must-see sights on one walk across a city that was planned on purpose. Begin at the U.S. Capitol, follow the National Mall past the Air and Space Museum and the National Archives, then turn north to Ford's Theatre and the White House. Return to the Mall for the Washington Monument, the World War II Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and finish at the Lincoln Memorial. The walk is mostly flat and starts at the Capitol, a short walk from the Capitol South metro station.
