Two Days in Ho Chi Minh City

Visit the most interesting sights of Saigon and learn more about Vietnam's intricate history in two days.

On your first day, visit the Xa Loi Pagoda, the largest pagoda in the city. Then explore exhibits relating to the Vietnam War in War Remnants Museum and after that, head to the Independence Palace, the seat of the President of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War which now serves as a museum. Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica is just a stone's throw away, so make sure you don't miss it on your way to the City Hall. This fine colonial building is unfortunately not open to the public, but it is a very popular photo spot with tourists.

Your second day starts in District 1 on Pham Ngu Lao street. Then head to the Ben Thanh Market where you can hunt for handicrafts, textiles, and other souvenirs. You can also try some local dishes here. After that, visit the Fine Arts Museum which houses a collection of Vietnamese art work and ancient Buddhist art. If you feel like more shopping, stop by at Saigon Square, a shopping centre that caters to all of your possible needs. The last two items in your itinerary are the Bitexco Financial Tower and the Ho Chi Minh Museum.
